Private Guided Tours
The New Orleans Pharmacy Museum offers private guided tours for groups ranging from 10 to 50 people. A private guided tour of the Pharmacy Museum offers guests exclusive access to the museum for two hours and includes a one-hour, fully narrated guided tour of the museum’s first floor of exhibits. For the final hour, guests are welcome to explore the Pharmacy Museum’s second floor of exhibits, enjoy the private historic courtyard, and speak with the docent. Guests are also given the opportunity to consult with a docent ahead of their scheduled tour in order to make any specific requests regarding topics discussed or exhibits covered.
Private guided tours are $35/person (minimum of 10 paying guests)* – no applicable discounts. Children under 6 are free, but do not count towards the 10 person minimum.
This per person amount is the same no matter what private tour is being booked (i.e.: NOPM guided tour, Magic of Medicine, Winter Afflictions & Traditions, etc.).
Pricing
Your private guided tour is allotted a 2-hour time slot (ex: 8 a.m. - 10 a.m.). Guests enjoy a narrated 1-hour tour, followed by additional time to continue viewing exhibits as well as ask the docent any questions.
Please note that booking is subject to availability at the time of inquiry.
Duration
Payment of 100% of the cost of the private tour is required in order to reserve your space.
Private Guided Tours can be cancelled up to one week before your scheduled tour for a 50% refund. Cancellations made after this time are not subject to any refund.
If guests wish to add additional time to their tour and be at the museum for more than the designated 2 hours, they may instead book according to the New Orleans Pharmacy Museum’s private venue rental policies with the option to add a docent at extra cost.
Although there are no age restrictions for the private tour, guests under 6 do not count towards the 10 person minimum as they do not need their own ticket.
If guests would like to bring beverages for their guests to enjoy, the New Orleans Pharmacy Museum will provide galvanized buckets to keep these refreshments cold. The Pharmacy Museum does not provide ice. Food is not permitted during private guided tour reservations.
