DONATE ARTIFACTS
The museum collects original artifacts and other resources that:
illustrate and document the history of pharmacy and medicine during the 19th and 20th centuries, with an emphasis on New Orleans and Louisiana;
enhance the educational, cultural or research value of the collection;
can be properly stored, conserved, and preserved by the museum.
The museum accepts donations of some pharmaceutical and medical-related objects, paper ephemera, artwork, photographs, and books in good condition that date from prior to 1950. Materials from later dates will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Artifacts in poor condition, or those with no identifiable information, such as glass bottles with no markings or labels, will not be accepted.
Other items that the museum is NOT collecting, with some exceptions, include:
most measuring glassware (e.g., graduates and flasks)
basic mortars and pestles
laboratory instruments
chemicals with no identified pharmaceutical use
sets of weights

The value of donations to the museum is tax deductible. However, as a non-profit the museum cannot appraise donations.
